Painted arrow and size .. an unusual liner.

Good evening to all, I would like to receive more information on this 1943 MKII liner on which in addition to the manufacturer's marks and date, appears the arrow feature and size painted in white, directly on the cross bearing .. I had never seen anything like it on british or canadian liner, can anyone help me understand more? Thanks.

The helmet I'm pretty sure has been refurbished post war, (what is the date of the helmet?)
On most of these post war refurb's, they put the size of the liner on the cruciform pad.
The maker of the liner is a post war manufacturer, someone has tried to make it look like 1943.

Very similar to the New Zealand mid 1950's refurbished helmets.

Another refurbished post war, and again someone has tampered with the date on the liner.

White painted marks on a Brit MkII liner?.....I’ve not seen those either.....

Probably see about one a month on the various ebays.
There is one for sale now on Italian ebay Fante.
