Question Please help identify this leather flight helmet

    Hi there,

I just found this flight helmet, but I have absolutely no idea what country it is related to nor what time frame it is from. Figured I'd best asked here. Perhaps something an RAF pilot used to wear? Luftwaffe maybe, French, Belgian???

If more pics are needed please ask.

    Thanks for all your input.

    Best regards,
    Ken

My first thought was for an old open top sports car?

I have absolutely no idea... It does in any case have holes to guide cables... I found it at a relative who said it was from an RAF pilot, I'm not sure...
I know fighter pilots often wore similar helmets, although they do indeed look like something used for racing cars.

Not sure whether it's for aviation or car sports, was hoping you would know the answer.

    Thanks!
