REME flashed MK2.

Article about: Havent posted any new lids for a while so theres a bit of a backlog. Here we have a nice REME flashed helmet. Bought for a song too which is always nice.

    Nice flash, and on an early one too.
    You couldn't have a look inside of helmet to see if there is an white SS painted inside.

    Nothing except the usual dead spiders and dust.It is a 1938 dated Vero though.

    What would the SS be?

    On a very few 1938 dated Mk2 helmets you will find the SS, stainless steel, meaning the rim is stainless steel. Which would make it non magnetic. Mk1* had M, to show the rim was magnetic, the army was a bit paranoid about magnetism, in case it interfered with the compass.

    Ah, thought it might be that. It isn't magnectic..just tried it.
