Yep have to agree not British, the leather cup section is incorrect, also the end tips are 5/8" ball tip type, these are a U.S. pattern fitting, the British late WWII style chin cup , uses 3/4" brass end tips and slide buckle, with a single 5/32" rivet through the centre of each tip to secure it onto the webbing strap. Also the chin cup consists of two layers of leather, a Maroon red chromium tanned outer layer, and a veg tanned Chamois layer on the inside face edge.

Thanks Steve, I have seen some others from a seller in Canada (listed as British, but is the Israeli version), with the P&P it does get very pricey and I could buy a 50's UK example for slightly less from the UK with free P&P, though I might just have to bite the bullet to get one if I want an original Israeli type.
I can ask P&P from the seller you link to, he might be cheaper. I just checked and they do not post to the UK.

Thanks again for responding, it is appreciated.
    Regards,

    Jerry
