I know its a MKIII But what is the symbol and the Little holder on the front

I think this one was advertised as a Polish badge on the side, the metal holder on the front might be for a riot shield/face protector that attached to the front. Probably used in Ireland???

I thought it might be from Ireland but i looked at the visor for one of those and they are connected to the sides so it might of been mounted to the wall but it is a MKIII right?

A WW2 Mk3, made from 43-45. Liner might be WW2 also, or dated anywhere from late 40's to early 50's.

And have you considered the fact that the area on the front could be for mounting on the wall

Could be, I have a MK2 shell as a flower pot, which hangs by 3 chains hooked onto it.

Well is it rusted? or is it its original brown paint under the black paint?

Liner is WW2 its FFL 1943 and i added a 1941 dated chinstrap to it shell is most likely from D-Day and I think the shell is RO & Co
