Turtle helmet with a mkii liner?

Saw a black Mkiii helmet with a clearly earlier mkii liner fitted. The seller had noted this also. It was cheap, is it worth picking it up? I don't personally want it but would it be useful for the older liner?

I thought the mark 3 lid had the mark 2 style liner?..

the Mk3 helmet normally has the Mk2 liner, if can help you, here are the configurations of the turtle helmets as I know them:

Shell Mk3; Liner Mk2


Shell Mk4; Liner Mk3 (pull tab inside rubber cross)


Shell Mk4; Liner Mk4 (pull tab outside rubber cross)


Shell Mk4; Liner Mk5

Thanks guys, Roberto that is a useful post. Thank you. As it was cheap I might return to get it. From what I saw I'm guessing it was indeed a Mkiii shell with a mkii liner.

Look for dates on both shell and liner.
