OK, so this is not WWII but it is just after (1948).
Picked this up yesterday. It's a nice clean USMC pith helmet. Thought it said 1943 on the stamp but when I got home, I could see it was 1948...a bit bummed...but at least it was named and has his serial number.
So I looked him up and found that he was a WWII vet that was re-activated in 1946. Interesting..I wonder why???? Also not sure what ERC means (Eastern Regional Command??) Unfortunately I could not find his records for WWII.

- Recalled to Active Duty who had been transferred to the ERC.
- Re-enlisted March 25, 1946.
