What kind of Helmet?

I've seen this kind of helmet before, but I can't remember exactly what it is? Is it a despatch riders helmet? Early pattern? It's escaped my mind :P

Pretty sure it's a Duperite made Australian despatch riders helmet.

Are these helmet common? This one seems to have been painted over a few times.. the seller is asking $85 USD

They are not common in the UK, but no doubt more so in Oz. If they do turn up here I would expect it to fetch £100-£185.00, maybe a bit more.
