Who wore this Aide.

Another find from the tip quite a few years ago. To all intents and purposes it is a construction workers hard hat. But in those days no hard hats were worn on building sites. The leather liner is marked BMB 6.3/4 1941. Were the Bevan boys in existance as early as this date? The liner is held in place by a brown bootlace. The helmet is made of "Plastic". John.

Hi John, the miners helmet of the day was not plastic but a fibre compostion material. (The first tankers helmets were inspired by it)

I think this is a post war helmet which has been repaired using a wartime liner!
