Ok right first picture is of the white M the helmet it self is very round and bigger in every dimension to my ww2 british Mk2 helmet and there is a what looks to be a slight ripple in the dome it has a small bolt in the top there is part the ww2 liner still in and on a scrap of cloth it says Fire Group Leader-Doddes? 130.
Edit: tested it with a magnet it is sort of Magnetic but the rust makes it less magnetic or is it the rust making it magnetic? , so could it be one of those first 4,440 made out of mild steel?

Not that I can see It is rusty on the inside as well but I will have to look again yeah I took the pic when my tablet had 10% charge left so it kept asking me to connect charger.

Here are some better pictures using a camera and not a tablet, some pictures are to show how thick or should I say thin the metal is and what look like stamps but could be rust.

Is it possible its one of the 1941 BMB helmets or more likely a WW1 converted to WW2 MK1*?

I was wondering the same thing, but I cannot tell from these pics, perhaps Aaron can.

Or Australian but the chinstrap lugs are of the early type there is no date on the chinstrap lugs either?, and all the rimless 1941 BMB helmets have MK3 chinstrap lugs? So I am Very confused I will search for a stamp again.

An M would suggest messenger, & agreed, not an 1941 BMB raw edge.
So it's most likely an Mk1*.
