WW2 MK2 British textured Brodie green chevron & N insignia?

A recent purchase of mine, a bit sceptical at first until I got it under a magnifier. If held in certain positions the original Khaki paint can be seen, around the top of the seam there is evidence of textured paint. On the front (very crude) Is the letter "N" followed by some chevrons. What are people's opinions? Liner is dated 1942 "Teddy Toy Company"
