I came across these two cannon at last Sunday's Liverpool arms fair, and couldn't resist buying them to add to my collection. The smaller of the two has a copper barrel, and is a working model. The detail to the carriage is first-rate, and appears to be constructed from oak. The second and the larger of the two, is not as accurate. The trunnions are set too low in the barrel, and I suspect that the whole gun is possibly an apprentice piece to show off skills at metal turning on a lathe. But for all its faults, it is still an impressive model. My collection of guns continues to expand! I have placed a .303 cartridge next to the cannon for size reference.
