Hi guys,
I was just wondering, did German soldiers receive their pensions after the war? I have heard that they all did, except for members of the SS, and I would just like to hear more details about it.
Thanks,
Mo

Yes they did.
War Disability pensions are paid to former members of the Waffen SS.
Cheers, Ade.

I bet all the non-disabled regular SS troops were pretty ticked off about not getting their pensions, although I guess at the time they were probably happy not to be dead or incarcerated.
I was under the impression that the SS was declared an illegal organization, and they had to form a organization to raise funds for waffen SS vets....the name of it eludes me at the moment
You were thinking of:
HIAG Hilfsgemeinschaft auf Gegenseitigkeit der Angehörigen der ehemaligen Waffen-SS
Non disabled Waffen SS men get nothing.

My Uncles in U-Boot and Waffen SS received nothing yet my Australian Mother receives a better part pension as my father's (luftwaffe service) widow than had he been an Australian serviceman. Go figure!!??!
Very interesting, thanks for your help guys.
As my father passed away before he would be entitled to a pension, my mother still collects pension today.
Ralph.
