My Father was disgusted when I enlisted in the Royal Australian Airforce. Dad questioned whether I thought the military was just a game with a salary. Dad asked that I swear if we were ever drawn into another war that I would first shoot the real enemy, the Politicans, Priests, Police and Postmen.. I laughed at the time but having since read of the influence and scrutiny placed on the "home front" by these people, can understand the outrage and sense of betrayal felt by those troops simply just trying to stay alive.
