Default Finding information on relative in German Military WW2

I was wondering how I go about finding out about my Uncle (who is not a blood relative as he was married to one of my fathers sisters until his passing away this year) who was apparently in the Hitler Youth.

Also the possibility of his brother who was posted as missing on the Eastern Front.

I was also told by my father that my uncles father had lost a leg in Russia during the war and made it back to Germany but due to the circumstances and the war not much else is known.

My uncle passed away this year unfortunately even though I was hoping to see him again in March next year when I am next in Switzerland as he and my fathers side of the family are all there. (My father is Swiss).

I also have an Austrian uncle though I do not have much to do with him although I understand his father served in WW2 on Germanys side as well.

If anyone can give me a pointer as I will be in Europe in March next year and was hoping to do some research, as I am currently researching my grandfather on the English side of the family who served in WW1 and 2.

    Many thanks

hi, here are some links to a few sights that may be of assistance to you in your search.....
    [url]http://www.volksbund.de/graebersuche.html....german war graves commission......
the best site i can suggest is the Deutsches Dienststelle. [url]http://www.com-de.pair.com/wast/...records here are only released to family members, some documentary proof should be enough to grant you access.
you can also try the Bundesarchiv:...http://www.bundesarchiv.de/
    Deutsches Rotes Kreuz:....http://www.drk.de/
hope this is of some help.
    regards
