German SS Officer Erich Priebke Dies

Read that Erich Priebke Passed away Oct. 11 in Rome. He was 100. paper stated he was second in command at Gestapo Headquarters in Rome on March 23,1944. Escaped from a British POW camp and emigrated to Argentina. Convicted in 1997 of participating in the Ardeatine Cave Massacre of 335 Italian men and boys after some 33 German soldiers were killed when a bomb exploded in Via Rasella.

He might have regretted openly talking to the media (If I understand correctly, Priebke was interviewed in Argentina and openly talked about his wartime exploits).

Pribke was interviewed by an American TV station when confronted on the street. He readily admitted who he was and it lead to his extradition to Italy. This is the third thread on this subject and will not provide anything new on the subject so I am closing it.
