Five pages of discussion over information the original poster never revealed what the purpose of this thread was. He failed to [rovide any data of substance yet believes that he is the target of a Neo-Nazi conspiracy. What a worthless thread this is.

It would have been interesting to hear what the original poster's thesis is, which can be disclosed without revealing any new or sensitive sources.
I'd like to be surprised but can't imagine that there can be enough new material to justify a book. I know how sensitive one can feel about losing control over research findings but have also found that, in reality, there are few people who are ready for the time consuming and usually unremunerative discipline of writing a serious book, even if they have all sources on a plate.
I see that, having just typed this, that the original poster has already told his story to the Daily Mail (
Historian discovered his grandfather captured Nazi Heinrich Himmler | Daily Mail Online)
Let me again register my doubt on this score. If this person is the same researcher, I am confident he would have eagerly shared what he has learned with us here.
Also, to those elsewhere who are unhappy about this site, then kindly consider the abuse that many of us endure on an hourly basis by persons with big, windy or flatulent ideas
and poor grammar. Usually the combination of these two things means nothing good for anyone. I read the newspaper article with great interest.
The personage shared his documents in that venue, as appropriate, but not here...why? It makes no sense to me at all.
Real scholarship is very difficult and time consuming, and poor spelling is an indicator of some more fundamental problem. We are all amateur scholars here, while
some of us are peer reviewed and published scholars and maybe somewhat less amateur. The peer review thing has its merits, and cannot be gainsaid.
But the stalwarts here share without stint, and bring their evidence to the view of all with a refreshing innocence.
Our age calls all hierarchy and authority into question. It is bracing; it is fun; it feels so nice. It does not always serve the truth.
I applaud the other person in the Daily Mail and I express my sincere doubt that the person who posted here and this person are one and the same person.
Please correct me if I am in error.

I have been a member of this forum and others like it for many years and I like to
think that I have made some small contributions to the discussions that I have been
a part of. But I can not spell worth a damn and don't have much of a clue for "correct"
grammar. Does that make me less of a student of history or somehow inferior to others
on this forum?

I think you are perfectly aware that my comment was not directed at you. You also made no spelling errors in post # 54. You write clearly and your contributions here
have been excellent.

Please consider this passage.
"....I know their all wrong as I have a, the documentation formt he regiment whom captured him
and I've met four families of the five men whom captured him
and the fifth man I know very well as he is my grandfather.
So I know the right facts, but I wish to know more. Maybe someone on here has some information I don;t have.
So when I write it in my book it will be as correct as possible and well researched something the other books have failed to do..."
My comment was directed to this statement above.
And to hundreds, if not thousands of others like it that I have engaged since 2008, when I started work here.

Some people are not 100% comfortable typing on a PC and are not the best scholars these are forums we are not all expert scholars.
But his was very bad for someone who is writing a book.
I dont blame him for not sharing any docs he had if it was a book he wanted to write and sell as some one else could've used them before him.
If they was as good as he made out.
Also he got all heated and started calling people nazis and saying he was going to leave the book, sounds like some childish person.
I don't think he is a writer or anything but a troll. I dont see him post anything on WAF only here,

Hell hath no fury like the Grammar Gestapo on the trail of a common minion. I always try to use the spell check option before submitting my replies or correspondence to FB.
FB please take my response as nothing more than a jovial jocularity. (Had to spell check that one)

Yes that he is a troll. But you are right if he was any sort of writer he would at least be able to spell and use commas and full stops and if he did write a book then i would not want to buy it as his writing skills seem very poor.
