What is your question Josh concerning these photos..what do they mean to you..and how will these photos support your thread. 2 of the photos 1st and 3rd appear to be a study in anatomy ..these others are war related..which are common in studying military History and Battles. Regards Larry

I know from reading Eugene "Sledgehammer" Sledge's book "With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa "
This phrase came to mind when you asked about Judgement

“To the non-combatants and those on the periphery of action, the war meant only boredom or occasional excitement, but to those who entered the meat grinder itself the war was a netherworld of horror from which escape seemed less and less likely as casualties mounted and the fighting dragged on and on. Time had no meaning, life had no meaning. The fierce struggle for survival in the abyss of Peleliu had eroded the veneer of civilization and made savages of us all.”

In these photos I see nothing that points to War Crimes and Phils reply above has answered that perfectly.

I wholly concur. The facts associated with such images are very well known, and well researched by historians of the second world war in the Pacific.

The revisionist intent of such a post lies outside the apolitical parameters/guidelines of this site.

Also, in view of the terrorist assault on free speech as has recently happened in France, to the view of so many, such a post is also in very poor taste.

What is it that bothers you about the pictures Josh ?
Skulls of dead enemy soldiers ? That is a beautiful sight in war time.

this is not spoken ? without judgments ? why? Here are images of the Thirty Years War, which are no less awful, and which betray far more human carnage than the fighting in the Pacific Islands in 1942-1945.

this is not spoken ? without judgments ? why? Here is whole thingy from the Thirty Year's War, which was more lethal and awful than even the fighting in the Pacific, at least to my biased view.

I am also a professional historian of war, by the way.....
