I would venture it is 99.9% fake like most concentration camp items.
I would pass if offerd to me.

Hi Australia!
Just concerned mainly about the VW logo. The attached picture shows the pre-war and WW2 logo - after the war, the Brits removed the cogs from the outside. I guess yours could be post ww2 use but then not with those swaz & eagle ink stamps.
Sorry bud ..... looks like a movie costume or something for the Vee Dub jamboree.

Hey Eric ...... thinking at the same time halfway across the world! ........beaudy mate!
If it was a movie costume , what would it be worth since you don't see many uniforms like this?
Mate I hate to come out and say it but it is just no good in any way in any form. Sorry if you own it and if you dont be glad we saved you some hard earned money.
Wish you the best.

Mate, it is worth whatever someone wants to pay for it. Despite ONLY going for genuine items, I just bought a repro SS crusher cap used in a dutch movie and weathered to look like it had been to hell n' back. Why? .... because I paid 1/100th of the price of a real one and I want to do a Joachim Peiper impression on a dummy head as a display.
I like the cap and that's the important point ....... so do you like yours?
