Raids on mainland Britain
Did any uniformed Sonderkommando or Fallschirmjager units conduct any raids on British soil?
I cant think of any examples
Cheers

No, this is an Urban myth inspired by the book "The Eagle has Landed".

Re: Raids on mainland Britain
Its something that I've always wondered too because I've heard stories of German soldiers carrying out recces on possible landing areas. I havent thought of it as being true but I certainly havent dismissed it as a posibility.
Thanks

Re: Raids on mainland Britain
Undoubtedly, there would have been German spies scouting potential landing areas and their surroundings, although I find it very unlikely that troops would have actually landed on British soil. The scenario is truely fascinating though!

Re: Raids on mainland Britain
When you see how easily the FJ rescued Mussolini it was very possible Skorzenys Kommandos could have launched a daring raid in Britain!
