The Ritterkreuztraeger Friedrich Anding award date
All the sources that I have seen (except this one - Axis History Forum • Knight's Cross Holders Photo Database) state the date of awarding the Ritterkreuz to Leutnant Friedrich Anding was 8 May 1945. Was this an unofficial award, or the documents were properly signed by Hitler earlier? And on that day the Ritterkreuz was just laid down on his chest? Any opinions?

In Fellgiebiel the 8/5/45 date is given but i'm not sure what is shown in Veit Scherzers work and whether Anding is acknowlwedged as an RK by Scherzer , unfortunately i don't have his book

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
