Steel helmet Research
Does anybody have a book with an overall research of all steel helmets? Trying to have one that has an overview of all types. Is there even one?

Re: Steel helmet Research
Are you talking about all the helmets from one specific nation ie Germany? OR are you talking about every helmet from every nation?

Re: Steel helmet Research
Just Germany. But one with all wouldn't be bad!

Re: Steel helmet Research
If you are going to be serious about German helmets you need to buy Ken's book and study that and the SS Steel books by Kelly Hicks.
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

...and as a general rule, don't buy on eBay. Two years into collecting helmets and I still carry my copy of Kens book everywhere I go, the spine has begun to fall off. I am constantly burying my nose in it to compare decals, chin straps, liners, paint and anything else that comes into question. Knowledge is confidence, and confidence is power.
