Default U-662 Commander Heinz Eberhard Muller

    Hi,
I am wondering if anyone might have any information about
Heinz Eberhard Muller after the war.

When I was 15 (1971) We had a dinner guest who told
us that he was a U-boat captain in the war. His boat was sunk
and he became a POW. I do not remember his first name or
too much of the details of his story but after looking at U-boat
Captains named Muller , I think he was the only one to be a POW.
But I would like to know more details to see if this is the same
man who was in our dining room in small town Wisconsin in
    the 70's.

A google search turned up nothing about him post ww2.

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

    Thanks Carl,
That is where I found the list of "Mullers". Unfortunately
they only have a brief overview of his war time service.

Perhaps still contact them though Greg, they may be able to point you in the right direction or at least offer some advice. Good luck with your search anyway.

I think the last uboat captain alive was Reinhard Hardegen who as also departed.

    Thanks Bob,
I know that Muller died in Stuttgart Germany in 1988.
My memory isn't as good as it used to be and to me it's
looking more like this is not the guy. I've talked to my
sister who was there also and like me, she can't remember
    his name.

I know where he lived for a short time in a nearby town.
I hope maybe I can check tax records to get a name.

All I can really remember for sure is that he said was a U-boat
Captain. His boat was sunk and he became a POW. He spent
the remainder of the war in Scotland where he escaped twice
but was immediately caught each time and that he was well treated.
