I found the first picture the most interesting. Did you notice that those "partisans" were wearing disguised police uniforms? It seems quite unusual and made me think that they could possibly be an antipartisan kommando? In other words policemen disguised as partisans.

No pictures to contribute, but if you look at the posed shots the soldiers are making sure to show off their watches. These were the most popular item to be taken from German POWs, KIA. 'Uhree, uhree!'

great history of year grand dad. my farther salior on a destroyer serving along the north atlantic dealing mostly with the uboots, now my uncle was a ranger in the army in wich from normandy to berlin one guy in his co. collected patches and cloth items, @ the time the "trophy hunters" were looking for cash items, items of trade and so on, anyhoe this guy liked the look of the whermatch inignia so with luck he made it threw the war and sent home hundreds of ss, hitler jurgen, every unit you could think of. until he got away with it he sent home full uniforms. if i can get the o.k. from a relitive, theyhave a photo of him after the war with his booty, and at one point he had over 100 thousand items, prisoners and such would trade him items for cigeretts and food for uniform items. it turned into a problem, his rusack had no room for his gear and food, finally he was told eather stop or go into the stockage. he was not into it for money or disrespect, never touched or even thought of rumbling one whom was gone, most came from piles of disregarted uniforms and such, while others took from the dead and un fourchinite. well, in the 70s a relitive sold all, all items to a army navy co. in CAL. for $75 cash........TERRIBLE, if you were to look at value today, i cannot myself even think of it. anyway, your article just reminded me of the uniforms, patches and goodies that once was a historicle marvel.
