    I have to agree 100 % with Maxim on this , this post is about remembrance of the young men in this case Russian , English , American , Canadian and those of many other nations who sacrificed themselves for their country whatever the political aims of their regimes on the Northern front and the Artic convoys.

    We all know that the rights and wrongs of the most terrible conflict in history have been and will be debated again and again but we try to avoid the sort of slanging matches they nearly always turn into on this forum and certainly this thread is not the right place for it !!

    I'm sorry guys, I didn't mean to steer this thread that way. As you said Paul, every soldier fighting in this terrible war were fighting for their country and it doesn't matter what country it was or the politics of it. I will repeat that I am very glad that these soldiers are remembered no matter what country they were from.
