Default 13th Derby Home Guard Battalion

I recently found out my Great Grandad Thomas Garner Was in the 13th Derby Home guard battalion He served in it from 12th July 1940 - 11th March 1942 when he resigned (I don't know why) But can anyone give me any information from the battalion during those dates and if possible photos I Know he was at Derwent Isolation Hospital manning search lights. Thanks in advance. The picture is him In WW1 and the uniform he is wearing doesn't have pleated pockets. (He would have wore Notts and Derby's side cap badge)
