I know this is not military research but I came across a orphan from 6,000 miles from home. A 1953 red MG that purrs like a kitten completely rebuilt and painted 32,000 miles on it. The only thing wrong with it is the dashboard clock does not work and it is missing one fog lamp up front. I can remember when I was 17 years old this was my dream car except I wanted British Racing Green I will tell you how much the guy is selling for but I would very much like to hear what the Britons have to say about what it is worth Enjoy the pics.1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty1953 MG beauty

Amazing condition - I hope you will find the fog light and clock replacement pretty quick.

Looks like a great little car. Hope you get a good deal if you are intent
on buying it. There are most likely MG clubs around the world where
you can source the needed parts.

I've seen decent 1970's Triumph Spitfires sell for $5,000-$6,000
and expect something like this should go for a few
    thousand more.........

Well the fellow wants $34,500.00 or 22,845 Pounds ! Yes we have insane people over here. I thought you guys would like to see this car but for that much money he can keep it. Maybe in another 60 years it will be worth that much I don't think so.Cheers

With a few major parts missing or broken ? - Lol, he really IS a nutter.
Some people do not actually want to sell.

Just as I have $16,000 invested in my Willys MB but will probably
never see anywhere near that kind of money for it, you cannot
include time, labour or love in the price.........
    Regards,

Hell, shows me what I know . I did not even think about the left hand drive. Did MG make this special for the USA market?

My opa had an MG very similar to that, it was a very beautiful car but he traded it because he could hardly fit in it. He's 81 and is still 6"2, he traded it for an even more beautiful car, the clenet.
