70 Years Since Churchill's Famous 'The Few' Speech
This morning, the BBC here in England have been replaying a large part of the wartime Prime Minister's iconic words to Parliament.
In August 1940 the Battle of Britain was well underway and who knows what might have happened had the outcome been different.
Here's a selction of pictures from those desperate few months. The one of Churchill smiling in a Dover air raid shelter is a particular favourite (as is the blackout wardens cartoon).

The Spitfire and Hurricane from the BOB flight will be over the cabinet war rooms at approx 3.15pm in a fly past to commemorate the occasion.
(This means they will be over my house at about 2.55pm on their way down to London) ..
Always glad to see the BOB flight out in the summertime .... you just can't mistake the roar of them there merlin engines !!!

One of the most notable speeches of all time , today will take many back to that summer of 1940 !!!
