Box from Whitfield Barracks School Hong Kong.
I was found this today when I popped into local charity shop. This was on the rack in the storage room at the back of the shop and when I picked it up out of interest noticed the brass plaque on the front which reads "WHITFIELD SCHOOL SOUTH 19 HONG KONG 57". Sensing this was a piece of British Colonial history and a nice decorative item if nothing else bought it. I know the Whitfield School mentioned on the plaque was one on the former British Hong Kong barracks. Just thought it was an interesting item and posted to see if any members know more about these things?? Regards Tim.Attachment 929972Attachment 929973

A popular style of carved chest usually available in different sizes. Google Camphor chest. The plaque really adds something there.
