i dont know if this in the right section or not or whether it will go anywhere? I am trying to find out about the war time history of my mother her name was GIZELLA TOTH she was Hungarian and she was up to something in Hungary during the war she refused flat to talk about it but one or two things came out over the years. There was mention of an SAS sergeant who parachuted into Hungary was captured but managed to escape thats all I know about that but she was involved with him somehow the next thing was a Hungarian speaking Canadian doctor? He gave her the necessary documents to pass from Hungary to the UK just at the end of the war she went from Hungary to Austria where she was arrested by the Americans in the US area of Vienna, but a British Colonel arived got her released and escorted her to Lunerberg, Northern Germany. She went from there to Dover. She was met in Dover by Peter Calvacressy. He was involved in the Enigma thing at Bletchley Park he took her to Aspley Guise in Bedfordshire to a place called "the Old House" which I was told had something to do with spys snd she was carrying a Luger. That is where she met my Father in that village. Its a complicated interesting story and when ever I ask about it, I'm met with silence both from family and the authorities. I don't suppose anything will come of it, but its worth a try?

The Canadian doctor and his family sent my mother food and clothing parcels right up till the end of rationing in 1950 so he must have owed her something?

My Mother destroyed all reference to him ie address and things when i started to show interest in her past.

Another twist to the tale. My Mother carried her Luger for many years after the war. My Father told me that just after the war a Hungarian Countess was murderd in London and she was my Mother's friend. The Police to this day do not know who murdered her, but Dad said my Mother told him it was an SS officer who was her lover during the war and he said that she was allowed to have the Luger to protect herself which says to me that there is much more to it than meets the eye?

I think Peter Calvacressy took the Luger from her in about 1956. I only knew him as a friend of the family I didn't know his hisory with the Enigma thing until years later.Also in '56 my Mother used some contacts somewhere to get her Sister and family out of Hungary during the uprising. So she had friends in the right places, it's all very intrieging

I know a few more snippets, its just trying to remember and put together the bits. I think there is so much more to it than there appears to be.
My Dad said that some men came to see her after the war and asked her to go back to Hungary but they were married then and my Dad would not agree to it why they wanted her to go back, well i can only assume to spy? I dont see any other reason?

She also told my Father that in the later years of the war after the Germans went into Hungary that there wher quite a few English men running around in Hungary and that she was involved with them. There was something about trying or succeding to blow up an ammunition train. She also told him by far the Germans she came accross were SS troops she said very few ordinary soldiers and she seemd to know very well the difference between thier uniforms. She was also fluent in English German and Russian.
