Last WW1 active service veteran honoured by RAN
Claude Choules was the last veteran of WW1, serving in the RN and in WW2 with the RAN. Now Australia's newest ship will be named after him-the former British RFA 'Largs Bay' LSD is being transferred after sale to the RAN and will be renamed 'HMAS Choules' after the man who served in both navies for some 40 years.

She was commissioned today 13.12.2011.
