Seeking information for Allied landing area in Western Europe
Hello,
I am seeking information for Allied landing area in Western Europe. I'd like to know where my grand father landed in Europe when he arrived in January 1945. He was a part of the Canadian infantry, second division. I know that the Allies traditionally crossed the English Channel between Britain and France to land in Normandy, but with the clearing of the Scheldt and Antwerp in the Fall of 1944, I'm wondering if he might have landed in Antwerp (Belgium). I'm not sure if personnel could land there or if it was strictly for supplies such as fuel, rations, ammo, etc.
Any help at all would be very helpful to tracing my grandfathers steps throughout the Western front!
