A nice M5/276 Klein and Quenzer. Not rare IMO just uncommon as to how it was made.
I have read several post that these were constructed like this in that the prong bar sleeve is devoid.. G-Man

Nice buckle G, and a buckle to have if you are going to collect HJ IMO

Nice one!.....
Thanks Ben and Gunny.. The other distinction on these were the RZM "M5/276" maker mark as opposed to the usually encountered M4/ maker mark.. G

Really nice buckle! It's funny, I found a M5/276 Klein and Quenzer on the internet a couple of days ago and I like the backside with the special prong bar.
But the buckle's condition was terrible with a lot of lost paint.
If I buy it, can I repaint the buckle or is that a big no-no?
Or maybe I should save the money for a better M5/276...
Wewelsburg, Thanks for the interest.. I personally would not do a re-paint.. If you must, Purchase the item and in the future get a better example.. You would all ways know that this is "Not" original after the re- paint and in the long run may hurt another collector long after your demise.. ( Heaven Forbid ) but it could happen... Thanks for posting !! G

Thanks for the answer G. You are absolutely right. After thinking this through, I realize that if I re-paint it, I will lose all love for the item.
I'll save my money for a buckle in good shape instead and till then I'm happy for you and your buckle
And if there is one thing that I have learned, it is that I dont want to hurt another collector for anything in the world.
I had the opportunity to collect a few more...

Very nice trio G

Great ones! The M5/276 mark which is in the "right" place is so beautiful!
And the one with the odd catch is cool!
Good score G-Man
