Dj ue 72

Hi All

Found this worn set DJ nickel buckle UE 72 with belt L2 /954/40 size 85 for pimpf Hook M4/ 2 ? 2 or 4, Buckle is 1934 made PAul Cramer in Peter Nash's book german belt/buckles , but the belt is not in leather for sure I would say "plastic" perhaps I honestly don't know first time I see one like this ! anybody have opinion or idea of what it is made ??

I believe that is an ersatz belt. I believe collectors refer to them as 'radiator belts' because of their rubbery composition.

MAny thanks for information 1940 made they already use ersatz parts ? I believed it was at the end of war 1943 1945

I believe C Riese, Berlin was the maker of these rubberised belts, I think they also did frogs and pouches etc

I think the DJ buckle was replaced by the standard HJ buckle years before this belt was produced. I have seen dealers ask 2-3 x the value of a standard leather belt for one of these belts. You see the same thing with late war frogs.
