HJ buckle...... Fake? or Mint?
Can I get some opinions on this HJ Buckle that I have just picked up please.
I have my concerns, apart from being absolutely mint (wrapped in tissue) I am a little concerned that it could be a very good fake. My reasons?
Well I don't like the way the edge is finished, the tag seems to be put on wrong, although I have seen them "like" this before.
Is it one of the hoard that surfaced a few years ago? Or is it just an excellent example. My first thoughts were good, then i had doubts. I have taken a couple of measurements for good luck, across the buckle midway is 48.08mm and from the bottom of the catch to the end is 12.66mm
I guess i already know the answer
When you're wounded and left of Afghanistan's plains,
An' the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle an' blow out your brains,
An' go to your Gawd like a soldier." - Rudyard Kipling
