Default HJ Buckle with leather tab advice

Family heirloom HJ buckle with leather tab and belt. RZMm4/44 Cramer. Tab says Mitkop & co. Bielefeld 1942, but I can't find any info. I would appreciate any advice on the rarity of the buckle. Belt is in poor condition, broken and dry rot, so any preservation advice is welcome as well. Thanks for helping out a novice!

Mike, I do not see any leather support tab on the buckle, belt and buckle look ok from the pics though

The die stamped aluminium HJ buckle looks fine to myself also.

Not madly rare I am afraid and certainly not when there are clear signs of wear (which many collectors like).

No idea about the strap other than this buckle and strap did not start life together. An integral aluminium Brückenöse to a buckle would be severely damaged if for an extended period, it was worn with a strap having a steel Schließhaken.

I think the belt was meant as the tab? Usually a tab is a piece of leather that is sewn onto the buckle itself. Hope that helps you a bit. Everything else has already been said!
