Hello;
I got this buckle from a friend who got it out of an ammo can.
I don't have any Hitler Youth buckles so I dont have much to compare too....
Taken with my Windows Phone, just on the go until I get home.
Thanks for the help!

Corey, it is a fake mate, have a look in the fake SA thread there is one in there
Ben
Bummer, well it was free.
Hi Guys,
I have to disagree as I believe this to be an original period zinc HJ by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid. From a casual glance it might appear very similar to the "pipe" catch molded fakes that unfortunately pervade ebay and the like. The buckle construction, however, appears correct to my eyes but with the introduction of variant molded prongs. I have seen these cast prong HJs only a couple times before and so a scarcer variant to my mind. In my experience these prongs have also always appeared on RZM M4/24 marked zinc HJ buckles. There may be a chance I saw one marked for Overhoff & Cie, although I cannot recall. Unfortunately no corroborating images to share at the moment, although I'm sure Chad Williams will chime in here if he sees this thread. I vaguely remember talking with him about this variant and if anyone has a comparative image it'll be Chad Look forward to further comments & images.
Best,
Adam
Did a search on WFA and Chad shows an identical buckle from his collection. At first glance at the back I was thinking repo. Looks like you have a good one.
Well guys if genuine that is a first for me, I have never seen a HJ with no ears, and the prongs if you look close up are almost flat?
Ben

Seems as if we have a firefight on our hands.
Well, I have trusted Ben with my other buckles in the past, he knows his stuff very very well.
I'm posting more photos that I took with my phone this morning. I won't have my nice camera until later today.
These help at all?
I emailed Chad Williams with the pics, he specialises in HJ buckles, it may be genuine, but for me I have never seen a HJ with no ears and on the initial pics it looked like the prongs were flat like the fakes. If it turns out genuine bargain, a freebie and a rare beast with it, win win
Ben
Well, keep me updated Ben! I'm hitting a few shows around the midwest this month and I'm sure i'll have more to post!
