Here is the Hitler Jugend buckle I picked up today at the Louisville KY USA gun show. Again, probably not my best move, but I am willing to learn.

I won't waste your time with the fake SS buckle, as there is already a picture of it in the fake buckles thread.

    Regards,

    Roger

Cannot see why this purchase is "...probably not my best move...".

In my opinion, an original and representative silver grey painted steel HJ by Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid.

Thank you, David. I appreciate your taking the time to respond. Since I had not intended to buy an HJ buckle, I had not done any research into them. Therefore, buying this one was a shot in the dark, and based on hope rather than knowledge. There is another show coming up here in February, and I should be able to tell a bit more by then.

    Regards,

    Roger

The potential problem here lies with some original HJ buckles displayed in painted steel which are still regarded as fakes, due to their good to mint condition and they are naturally viewed, with some suspicion.

On most occasions and in my opinion, this is quite unjustified.

Here is an example of a M4/22 by Christian Theodor Dicke, Lüdenscheid and where I am sure there are those who would still regard this buckle with an element of extreme caution.

An original buckle in my opinion.

    Regards,

    David

A decent HJ buckle. If your going to the SOS next month in Louisville KY you be able to pick up some nice buckles. There wil usually be several thousand buckle scattered around the show.
