Here is a HJ -Buckle from KH M4/49 = Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid + Logo in a "gold" color
Note:
The piece is made of iron, which is copper-plated prior to nickel plating (for reasons of better adhesion), the present piece, the nickel layer has been lost over the Nickel layer over time, and the "supporting layer" (copper layer) shines throughe Time..

Das Stück ist aus Eisen/Stahl ,welches vor dem vernickeln (aus Gründen der besseren Haftung) verkupfert wird/wurden ist , ist bei dem vorliegenden Stück, die Nickelschicht im Laufe der Zeit verloren gegangen, und die "Tragschicht"( Kupferschicht) scheint durch

I have seen before this interesting metamorphosis on the odd occasion and by the way, I have also seen such buckles being erroneously described as HJ-Marine.
My pleasure and here is another HJ displaying the same features as the buckle which started this thread, albeit with an element of the original nickle silver remaining to the reverse.
