Good evening gentlemen. This HJ buckle has been in my collection for many years. Actually I do not collect buckles or HJ items, but some of this stuff have sneaked in too my house anyway
In and old list I have this buckle is named “Paul Cramer”, and I am guessing this is the producer? I have always believed this buckle was original, but the last two weeks research have learned me that German buckles can be a real “minefield”, so I wait till I hear the verdict from you guys. Better pictures can be provided.

    Best regards
    Arvid

A original buckle. Nice markings but Angolias revised edition says RZM 72 is Unidentiified.

You are perfectly right, Arvid, RZM 72 is indeed Paul Cramer of Lüdenscheid. Compare your buckle to those HJ's marked M4/44 and you'll see the equality.

    Arvid and Nick

Perfectly sound HJ's and what a shame that they are your "one and only".

Arvid, Guido is perfectly correct in confirming that Paul Cramer of Lüdenscheid was the maker.

Remember the "rule of thumb" that:-

RZM and number usually correlates with the M1 codes
KH (Koppelschloss Hersteller) usually correlates with the M4 codes
UE (Uniformen Effekten) usually correlates with the M5 codes

I suppose correctly, your buckle should be marked UE 72.

    Regards,

    David
