RZM 33----- the mystery
Hello guys,
So lets all pull together and as a collective group try to figure out a mystery.
WHO IS RZM 33????????????????????
To the best of my knowledge it is not listed on any RZM list that we have access to. It is a real mystery as I have both a marked HJ and a marked DJ from this mystery maker.
We need to think outside of the box here. The typical material which has been republished in collector books ext isn't going to give us this information. We need to dig deep and figure out maybe who has RZM rolls or RZM mittelungblatts from the early years that may not be into buckles. Somewhere somehow I feel like the answer is out there, printed on an original document waiting to be discovered!
please help!!!
I am out of town and will post both the RZM 33 HJ and DJ on Sunday night
thanks
Chad

I look forward to your posting the detail.
Have you checked an original copy of the "Handbuch der RZM der NSDAP"? I know an edition was published in 1935; a massive early reference tool.
-
You mean the later M1 number? As the M4 and M5 are known numbers!
For me the number already was withdrawn before the publishing of the
RZM handbook, as well as the first RZM publications in 1934. If I can
find the time I will check. The withdrawing of numbers was not always
published as it should have been done! They were not consequent!

I did check all of the issues from the Mitteilungsblatt der RZM from
1934 and 1935, which was a lot of work, due to the many numbers from
manufacturers and dealer's quoted there.
The missing M1 number was in none of them mentioned and so the number
must have been withdrawn before the preparation for the RZM Handbuch
or even before the publishing of the first issue from the magazine.
If numbers were withdrawn during the preparation they may have been
included in an issue. Anyway, some buckle manufacturer's included in the
known 1935 handbook-list, already were withdrawn actually shortly after
its publishing!!
It will be a coincedence when the name for the number will be found!
Old correspondence from the RZM or a 1933 or so advertisement is the only
source where this eventually will be mentioned, but I would not know any
person who owns such stuff!
PS:
This Sunday-afternoon I have checked a few hundred manufacturers
advertisements from 1933 and 1934. No advertisement did lead me to a
number 33. Sorry, no result.

Excellent buckle, good luck Chad in search of the manufacturer.

Why can't RZM 33 not be a J.D. von Hagen G.m.b.H. product (M4)?
Are there indications to say it can't? Just a wild guess of mine!
Don't get crazy about this Chad. The world is full of crazy people!!
