Nice one Ewan....Here's my example for the sake of comparison! You gotta like these buckles that have so many different markings!

    Cheers!

Hey! I have an M4/44 (Cramer) made HJ that has brass as the base metal....Have a look at the wear to the front - you can see the brass "poking" through....

Nothing wrong with that bucke.....it's a pretty cool variant with the M5 markings inside the diamond and the "thin" prong bar. I'll have to check up on prices....sounds like you are in the right ball park anyways. Here's my example.....these are cool buckles for sure!

Rob, Cramer produced their HJ's often from copper coated steel and nickel as the surface coating. I think the copper served as a kind merger between steel and nickel.
I would be interested in, if your buckle is magnetic?

Hi Ewan....M5 was used for this particular buckle because the M5 RZM numbers was used for uniforms. I'm not sure if M5 was used by any other maker though...perhaps only this one when it comes to buckles.
Guido - I checked the buckle and it IS in fact magnetic!

    Cheers!
    Rob
