Looks good to me, closer photo of the back would help, also this is a diamond for a HJ knife and not a regular membership pin.

Not sure if this is any better, camera has a hard time focusing

See if your camera has a macro setting , symbol is a flower most times . With macro you can get better close ups .

I actually use an iphone for taking all my pics. I could probably try with some different lighting

Natural light and no flash can work , I try to take all my photos in natural light . And that can take days for the rain to stop here on the east coast ! You shouldn't have that problem in Texas .

I knew it was from a HJ knife as soon as I saw it but looks like you guys beat me to the punch! This would be helpful on the thread regarding HJ insignia.Also, it kinda looks like the early model diamond,IMO. here's an early model. I think your is the second model..a little narrower.

There are still lots of original pin-back type around. I'd wait for
a better example because of the damage on the one
first posted.........
