Article about: Hi What do you think about this knife? My understanding is that there usually should be a motto on the blade when the maker name is used on the ricasso. Is this correct?

    Only the earlier versions have the Blut und Ehre Motto...

    That was my understanding that 1938-1945 models have no motto and no maker mark or logo. So if there is a logo like that there should also be a motto on the blade?

    I've never seen those rivets on a HJ knife. I wonder if that indicates the grips have been replaced or removed so a HJ diamond can be fitted. Photo is not good enough to comment on authenticity of the diamond. The maker's mark is a mystery to me, but I would say post war scout knife disguised as HJ.

    It's one of those post war scouts knives with the HJ diamond added - purely to deceive

    A good thread to read from a past member shows that many of the period producers who survived the war..were still producing ..some up to present day..of these hJ knives.

    I have one of these produced in the 1970s by Robert Klaas.
