Hey guys, picked this HJ up over the weekend at a Militaria show. I was curious to see if anybody had any information regarding the manufacturer of this knife as I haven't been able to find out much about them and also possible authentication. New to collecting so I am very interested in learning more.
    Cheers for looking.

I put that maker in the search engine in the upper right hand advanced search window and came up with this thread by our member Anderson.
    9th one down.

RZM code M7 Dagger makers who DID NOT MAKE HJ knives

    Others will chime in.

Nice early HJ imo that had their license to make them revoked by the RZM ,Regards, Paul

Thanks for quoting the research Phil, but this knife is the evidence I was looking for. It is genuine, and this is one of the few HJ knives made by FW Backhaus that have emerged. Backhouse was a small producer of various knives/daggers and in most Third Reich production would be considered a rare, low volume producer. So a good find for a HJ collector.
And agree with your comment Paul re losing RZM licence, quite possible.
