    Default Photos of HJ knife

Looking at it again when taking the photos I noticed the brass rivets are hollow. There is some pitting of the blade, esp along the spine. Thanks for your thoughts!

    Hi juniorb,

This one is post war made i,m afraid, the solid red diamond insignia is the plastic post war type (genuine diamonds were enamel)

probably made mid 50s at a guess.

The logo is the Jacobs company and not a known maker of period HJ knives ...not that I have seen. Postwar as Mac66 specified,,yes...may of these surviving firms still produced certain knives for collectors.

    HJ dagger authentic?

The Jacobs company made SA NSKK and SS Daggers.

Other comments welcome if someone feels my information is incomplete. Regards Larry

As Mac already says the diamond is solid plastic, moreover, the sides of the diamond smoothly align with the lines in the grip. Genuine HJ's dont have that.

Thanks for your comments and insights, gents. It's always great to learn from the more knowledgable. This will help me a lot in my search for an HJ dagger. Thanks again.

In fact thats not correct, that's only true on the early and transitional Diamond.
For exampleThe RZM Eickhorn and Hörster gripplates almost perfectly allign with the diamond.
If you look at the pinned thread on top of this page ( Diamons variations) you will find a few perfect example (first to see is the 3th grip with diamond from Mac66's post)
