Hi! I decided to buy a knife and find out...Sailor??! And here's what happened..Someone removed the needle from the badge and inserted into the handle of the knife. The knife itself is completely original, riveting native, with the motto.Early production. The badge was glued.

That's interesting Ollar. I assume you are referring to the so called Marine HJ knife. Your investigation answers the question with the expected result, that the blue diamond had originally been a badge with a stick pin and that it was glued to the knife. In other words a fake concoction.

Ollar there is only 1 type diamond Original to a HJ/DJ Knife (in 2 sizes)
No Marine and No student ever existed.
There is worldwide no evidence in any German period document that prove these have ever existed.

There was a time when the blue diamond HJ knives were popular with some dealers and collectors. One U.S. dealer even trying to expand the "collector market" with a green diamond variant. But those days are gone - although the knives themselves do turn up now and then with the old blue diamond types even found as "variants". Best Regards, Fred
