You should display this one outside of the sheath, the motto is untouched!

Now that is 'mint' IMO. Very hard to find a HJ knife in that condition. I have one coming, by Henckles,
also very clean, one of my favorite makers. -Congrats !

Hi Ger, Why has urs got a brown strap? My early Henckels has a black leather strap with the oakleaf stamp on the reverse.

Almost like its been restrapped, however doesnt make sense as a knife this mint is unlikely to have seen enough use to warrant a new strap.

My Henkel has a brown popper identical to yours, never noticed that before black strap brown popper.

Ger's brown strap looks original from factory to me. Yours maybe when they decided to have a black strap, who knows ?
However, here is the marking on mine that is considered the earliest type found on Henckels, but I'm not a specialist on these. Perhaps stingray or mac could be more familar.

Hey wagner, yes that is identical to mine. Thinking about it I believe the 'oak leaf' stamp with the LFS is the trademark of the leather smith.

Maybe henckels was supplied by various companys?
