Hi Lenny, I agree with the above. I'm sorry to say it's a fake buckle. Sadly a fake example is included in the Peter Nash book, Cheers, Richard.
I was just about to say mine looked ok compared to the one in the Nash book.... Sigh... My own fault for not checking in here first.

To bad it is a fake. Hope you can get your money back. If you keep the belt I may have an extra 50mm buckle.

Nice one Lenny. The belt is probably rarer than the buckles. I'm still looking for one!

Here is a couple of 50mm Prussian buckles I would like to get some opinions on. I want to make sure they are both good before I let one go.

    Thank for any help.

Sorry Lenny, I don't see any 1847 buckles. All look like 1895's to me, cheers, Richard.

I suggest to visit the excellent site of Sven Janke in Germany, named "Das koppelschloss", in which there is a page concerning the fakes (Kopien) and you will find a photograph of this same buckle

    Thanks for heads-up. Excellent link/site

If you look closely at pics you will see two that are bigger than a 95... The first pics are 1847 patterns, see the comparison in the later pics...

To bad, I guess the buckles aren't right for your nice belt. I am sure you will find one in the near future.

Hi Lenny, sorry I see what you mean now. For me they are private purchase buckles, not the standard with the stepped sides to fit the belt hook, cheers, Richard.
