Imperial German Buckles.

Article about: Next, 3 buckles with identical bodies but with different makers/sellers on the tabs. This design is by far my favourite. Really classy feel IMO. Each buckle is finished differently, one galv

and now a saxon M1866 (format like the Prussian M1847, but introduced in 1866)

very rare alpaca version with brass medallion. hallmark "Scholz" and Unitstamp 12.P.3.C.II = Königlich Sächsiches Pionierbataillon Nr.12, 3. Compagnie, II Garnitur.

In order of the "Bekleidungsvorschrift 2.Teil / Königreich Sachsen" from 1893
only the pioneer and the chaser units wore alpaca Buckles (later more units gets alpaca buckles...but this are the M95)
This buckles in the origin not have a leather-tap (...you can read in the Bekleidungsvorschrift)
